The COG planning staff works in cooperation with the S.C. Department of Transportation (SCDOT) on transportation planning activities in the region. The staff participates in public hearings on highway widening and other road improvement projects undertaken by SCDOT. Over the past several years the staff has completed several regional transportation plans. These plans include the Regional Multi-modal Transportation Plan, the Transportation and Community System Preservation Plan and Program (TCSP), and the Long Range Rural Transportation Plan (2007).
