PUBLIC HEARING CDBG APPLICATION TOWN OF PINEWOOD

NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that on WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 8, 2021, at 6:00 p.m., the Santee-Lynches Council of Governments (SLCOG), on behalf of the Town of Pinewood, will hold a “virtual” Public Hearing. Anyone interested in joining the public hearing through remote access shall call 877-594-8353. When prompted, you should enter the Participant Passcode: 42390843. This Public Hearing concerns an application to be submitted to the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Community Grants Program, on or about September 17, 2021, for a Community Development Block Grant (CDBG). The Town of Pinewood is requesting a Grant of up to $173,030 to carry out the following activities:

The Town of Pinewood is proposing to use CDBG funds to demolish Eleven (11) vacant and dilapidated residential structures throughout the Town that are posing a threat to public health and safety.

 This project, if funded, is to be carried out with Federal funds provided through the Community Development Block Grant Program (CDBG), which will be made available to the Applicant through the South Carolina Department of Commerce, Division of Community Grants Program.

 This Public Hearing and the matters to be discussed are subject to the provisions of the Town of Pinewood Citizen Participation Plan developed in anticipation of participating in the State of South Carolina’s Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program, providing for the participation of the citizens of the Town of Pinewood in the planning and implementation of community and economic development projects which will involve CDBG funds. The Citizen Participation Plan and the Application are available for review at the Santee-Lynches RCOG offices, 2525 Corporate Way, Suite 200, Sumter, SC. and the Town Hall, Pinewood, SC, between the hours of 9:00 A.M. and 4:00 P.M., Monday through Thursday.
