Senior Regional Planner

Under the general direction of the Chief for Economic & Community Sustainability, the Senior Regional Planner will perform a variety of professional planning tasks in support of local governments and regional partners in Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, and Sumter Counties, including development of innovative and appropriate tools to plan for the region’s future, including review and update of Comprehensive Plans and Zoning Ordinances. The successful candidate will also work to develop and implement planning projects for the Council of Governments in the areas of environmental and natural resources planning, transportation planning, economic development planning, and hazard mitigation planning.  The successful candidate will also be expected to lead team projects and mentor junior staff members in the organization.

Qualifications:

A Master’s Degree in land use planning, urban or regional planning, geography, landscape architecture, public administration, or a related field is required, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities. Proficiency using Geospatial Information Systems (e.g. ArcGIS) to analyze spatial data is required.  Experience with graphic design software (e.g. Adobe Creative Suite - InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop) is a plus. AICP certification is preferred, but not required.  Must possess a valid state-issued driver’s license.

Finance Coordinator Position (Entry-level)

Under direct supervision of the Finance Manager and general supervision of the Deputy Executive Director and Chief Financial Officer (CFO), undertake a variety of financial tasks requiring a general understanding of the SLRCOG policies, budget, programs and systems. Exercises good judgment in performance of financial duties.

QUALIFICATIONS:

The following standards express the minimum background of training and experience as evidence of an applicant's ability to qualify for positions of this class: 
REQUIRED: Associate’s degree in accounting or business administration and a minimum of 1-2 years relevant experience.
DESIRED standards:  Bachelor’s Degree in accounting or business administration and 2-3 years relevant experience.
