Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments Awarded Technology Grant Sumter– Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governments is proud to announce that it has been awarded a $103,900 Technology Grant. The Workforce Development Department, led by Ms. Areatha Clark, sought out and successfully pursued the grant opportunity from the State Workforce Development Board on behalf of our region.

The grant will enable Santee-Lynches Regional Council of Governmentsto purchase and update all hardware and software for public access computers in our SC Works Centersin Sumter and Camden, which have not been updated in over 7 years. This funding will help us better achieve our mission of connecting job seekers to businesses to fuel economic development and community sustainment.

SC Works Centers inject federal grant monies in to our region made available through the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA). WIOA supports training programs that help job seekers overcome barriers to employment and connect businesses with a skilled labor force.
