Hazard Mitigation

The 2025-2030 Regional Hazard Mitigation Plan is now available. The Hazard Mitigation Plan identifies projects and policies local jurisdictions can implement to help mitigate the impacts of floods, drought, severe weather, and other natural hazards. The plan was funded through a federal Building Resilience and Infrastructure and Communities (BRIC) grant. Thanks to the Emergency Management Departments in Clarendon, Kershaw, Lee, and Sumter counties, the Sumter City/County Planning Department, the South Carolina Emergency Management Division, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency for their assistance.
